Yellow Dawn

Really unreal morning at the river today…with hurricane Ophelia passing by the winds were picking up and although still cloudy and dull the subdued light was yellow…a promise of the sun that has come out later this morning perhaps but at the time altogether weird, like something from a sci-fi film.

Not helped either by the odd scent on the air – if we had volcanoes here then you would have sworn that there was one erupting somewhere and the sulphur was being carried on the wind… air temperature added to that sense too – almost so warm that it was ridiculous.

Created for a warm but uncanny swim which sent my head spinning into Greek mythology with the wind seeming to say ‘Cronus is coming…’ Why? Who knows – perhaps this wind has traveled over from Greece…or through time?… but let’s hope that Cronus approaches with his sickle as the God of Harvest and nothing more sinister. Given how beautiful a day it has turned into – I am going for the former…
