Mist & Midges

Mist & Midges: Day had the look of November as headed out to day and down by the river the cobwebs were heavy with dew, just like an Autumnal morning. Thick mist was swirling and there was a sense of the world being subdued and watchful.

Guess it suited my own energies today…feelings on overload and processing a lot of thoughts and emotions, could feel that hideous prickle of tension and shock that has the tendency to linger relentlessly….it was a welcome relief then to slide into the cold clear water. The midges which had been taunting with their hot bites backed off immediately and as the water took the weight of my body… it was as though it shared the weight of troubles too.

Just me…and the water…

What I love in this time of year is that you can stay in the water for so much longer. Once you have got accustomed to the temperature it is a sheer delight to trundle back and forth in a river ‘lagoon’ or to explore what is happening along the river bank… observing the flowers that are coming into bloom and the insect activity which is quite bizarre at times and so often missed when standing on firm ground on two feet.

Lot to be said for observing the small things and bringing your energies into the moment…

A different world…a world away from ‘my head’ literally the river transporting me through to another place of being…
