The Anchor

The anchor: River felt surprisingly cold today…cant help but wonder if it is picking up on the turn of the year…or maybe that is just wishful thinking? Still…it felt as soothing as ever …much needed. An array of Damsel flies and electric blue Dragon Flies were doing an acrobatic display…and the river banks by todays swim spot were filled with bright yellow flowers…made me smile.

Been reflecting on the hideous anxiety that some people can experience… Myself included. Not everyone it seems feels so deeply emotionally, feels the same level of empathy… or is prone to high levels of anxiety. In a case study in the First News last week ‘they’ actually confirmed this…not surprisingly. It seems however that people struggle with how to deal with this. Conventionally, medication is the answer… or some form of counselling…but in my experience this is not enough.

When that low hits…that voice of desperation and dread. Nothing appears to help.

At least nothing OUT THERE.

What does help is finding an anchor. And an anchor is not to be found ‘out there’ No matter how hard you try…how much you convince yourself that you have found the answer out there…in a relationship, a hobby or in work. Sooner or later, what tends to happen is the relationship breaks down…the hobby loses its appeal…or work becomes a disillusion or you feel bogged down in stress. This can take years…but it tends to happen nevertheless. And what also happens is that you learn that you are ‘broken’ in some way…you lose hope that things can be different for you.

I know because…I’ve been there.

The only anchor to be found. Is within you. Reconnecting to your core self. You may roll your eyes and feel what use is that if you feel wretched and ‘useless?’ but that is the effect of emotions talking, not your core truth. At your core you are resilient, strong, empowered, in touch with your intuition (your GPS for life) and on the outside when anchored in your strength and light women are radiant beings, vulnerable, sensual and courageous…able to be totally open with their own self expression without fearing ridicule or trying to squash themselves to ‘fit’ someone else’s expectation as to who or how they ‘should’ be.

On reflection…where are you at? Are you in touch with and anchored in your core self? Or…Do you lay awake at night anxious or depressed? Do you seek answers and a way forward with things within your life…but no matter how hard you try the answers appear to elude you?

Then I suggest you look to the place where the answers lay. Within you. Connection to your core brings you into alignment with the Universal flow…and all its infinite wisdom which you can access….

And so… I float in the river…above me the blue sky seems to go on for ever… and I breathe that energy of freedom and expansion deep into my body and feel the shift this brings… the freedom feeds my free spirit and I find myself smiling at that potential.
