Embrace the Mud
Embrace the Mud: Autumnal day today…pouring with rain as headed out and a distinct fragrance of autumn filled the air…although to be fair that has been creeping in for a while. In all honesty I truly feel that the 1st August as the Lammas that it is traditionally acknowledged as being, marks the start of the Harvest for a reason…
Anyways…rain and mud day today. I was reminded of a conversation that I shared with a friend this week regarding the mud that is ‘life’. The mud of day to day doing that can be viewed as a grind…or embraced in gratitude in doing so opens you to the realm of possibilities that life – and the Universe – can offer. This ‘mud ‘can take a perception shift to ‘embrace’ but certainly shifts your day to day energies from perhaps feeling quite down and wrung out with the ‘grind’ to a feeling of optimism…after all you are alive! There are new possibilities that can open up for you…should you be willing to embrace these.
Then there is the darker ‘mud’ The mud of emotions…both conscious and those buried within your subconscious as learnt perceptions both of yourself and your attitudes / beliefs about life. This mud is more challenging to embrace… you have buried it and avoided it for a reason and perhaps for a long period of time…perhaps for so long that you have forgotten that it is even there…
Embracing this mud does involve a bit of exploration. Unearthing and sifting like an archaeologist…discovering what gems lay hidden and shifting a lot of dirt in the process…and yes getting covered in dust and grime. You may feel filthy, you may feel that hot and bothered from the effort…but after you have shifted…unearthed and moved dirt about for so long…then what then??
Does it mean that all of a sudden there is no dirt or mud?
No.
You can never ever escape the mud…it is life…it is experience…
But what you are able to do is ‘see’ everything clearly…the mosaic that is you…the colours, the patterns…your beauty and uniqueness…cracks, broken tiles and all…
And THIS and the mud that you now need to embrace… accept all of who you are…get your roots into the mud and have the knowing that this is who you are and that is OK. Getting truly grounded and rooted in who you are allows for your ‘roots’ to draw new positive experiences and energies to you that can bring new growth and allow you to flourish in all areas of your life…
So… embrace the mud…
Besides…it’s good for your skin!
Namaste
Enjoy your journey X
