Nibbly
Nibbly: Aspirations, stress and strain, seeking this and searching for that. These can tear you apart. Literally. In addition, life eventualities, the loss of a job, the ending of a relationship, a perceived failure of some sort can become internalised as a flaw, as some sort of failing on our part.
Why is this?
Because firstly, rather than accept that these things come and go like passing clouds across the sky, we perceive them as being the whole sky, as being everything. Secondly, we make them mean something about us, or about the way life is in general; our perception tells us that life is a struggle, a battle and that we are fighting against the universe for things to be ‘different’. How can we fight against something so vast and expansive as the universe and not expect to feel small, alone and insignificant?
Do this and you are fighting against the very life that breathes through you and as you.
Our ego doesn’t stop there either. It looks to the past and drags up memories. Connecting these experiences it uses the information to confirm that this is what life is like, this struggle is what we should expect because this is how life always is for us. It then looks to the future telling us that there is no point to seek change because all that will happen is the same thing, over and over, so it is best to stay where you are and accept that plateau of experience.
This is a lie.
My friend has a guinea pig call Nibbly.
Nibbly has a great outlook on life. Nibbly doesn’t concern himself with the past or what may or may not happen in the future. His life is bean, water, grass, bean, repeat.
Simple and unsophisticated, perhaps, but freeing wouldn’t you agree? The fact is that as humans we have an amazing asset, that being our brain, but we aren’t using it too its full capacity; to evolve and gain awareness. Instead many are using it to stay imprisoned. The negative associations with past and potential future becoming the cage that keeps them stuck.
In this very moment you can be whatever and whichever way you want to be. Right now.
‘Your life is not a tragedy because this or that happened,
but because you are missing it.’
Sadhguru.
Namaste,
Enjoy your journey,
