Free Spirit

Free Spirit: Mild and warm rain this morning as headed out. Vastly different to yesterday’s heat wave – but still gorgeous never the less. The water was ‘alive’ with gentle rain and seemed like velvet. It actually felt the warmest swim that I have had for an age!

Didn’t swim until the afternoon yesterday which meant for a morning run. Met an awe inspiring lady, Amy, who had tethered her horse Rusty up on the moor near the forest. Rusty was one of the prettiest- and happiest – looking skewbald cobs that I have ever met. He was radiating contentment…it turned out that Amy was trekking with him and Vincent her dog around and across Dartmoor for a few days. What an amazing thing to do! Made me smile… the ‘go wild’ free spirit I guess…

Amy agreed that I share her adventure…hope that it ignites some free spirit and sense of possibilities for your own adventures…

What is it that you have dreamed of doing? Reminds me of that infamous speech of Bilbo Baggins when he leaves the Shire (Fellowship Of The Ring)…

‘The road goes on and on

Down from the door where it began.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,

And I must follow, if I can,

Pursuing it with eager feet,

Until it joins some larger way

Where many paths an errands meet,

And whither then? I cannot say.’
