Honour

Honour: Fresh and chilly start to the morning – the first ice swim of the year…a bit of a shock after swimming in 10 degrees plus last week. Stunning morning though…bright sunshine sparkling on the frozen river bank and the rising sun burning off water vapour from the river…all together a magical and mystical morning…

Much needed… an energy of rejuvenation and a reminder of the ‘bigger picture’ that is beyond human manipulation and upset…

I am big on honour. Honouring others, honouring their values and beliefs regardless whether they are different to your own… not even a question ‘of non-judgement’ that spiritual practice speaks of…with non-judgement you inadvertently buy into the notion of having a judgement…what is judgement anyway?  … with empathy you can even ‘honour’ behaviours and projections even if they are hurtful, you can recognise where these stem from and perhaps why that person is behaving the way that they are. But there is another factor to honour. That being honouring yourself. For all the honouring of others, authenticity embodies honouring your own core self, your values and beliefs. You may honour others…but ultimately you are free to choose whether you wish to be around a resonance that is causing you hurt and pain…

A welcome frozen swim then…sadly no sign of my fishy friends…yet perhaps they had more sense that to linger in the shallows today where the water was considerably colder…

Or… perhaps a signpost in their behaviour too? Food for thought and reflection…

You have a choice… stay…or dust yourself off and move to different waters…being true to your core authentic self…

Where do you ‘need’ to go and what do you ‘need’ to experience?

Have a great day…
