Small steps for change
No Sleep much last night…moon bright silver and light streaming into the room. Yep, curtains have been invented to prevent such phenomenon, but personally loathe curtains. Have a real aversion to them. Always have had, even as a child…although appreciate a warm room…prefer to ‘see’ the sky … a free spirit thing maybe? Anyways, clear night sky, meant for bright start but pretty cold…everywhere coated in sugar like frost…absolutely stunning.
Down by the river the river bank was as hard as rock… I don’t have a set policy for ‘amount’ of time dipping or swimming…it is quite simple…you stay in for as long as you feel you can or need to. Today then, a day when it didn’t take long for the cold to bite…got out the water smiling though…
Can’t help but reflect how a relatively ‘small’ amount of time can affect you for the entire day. How relatively small amounts of time can lead to major changes and shifts in your emotions and outlook and this then gives you a more empowered approach to the day…and to your life.
According to statistics 97% of people effectively ‘live’ the same day pretty much their entire lives…quite a sobering thought really. Especially if you consider that the likelihood that the majority of these individuals have some level of discontent and perhaps feel ‘stuck’ having numbed out to their potential for change. 97%! Just imagine how it would be if these 97% awoke to the possibility that making a small change, just for a few minutes a day could break the cycle of ‘norm’ and open them to personal growth and change that could lead to them feeling happier and perhaps being more fulfilled.
Wonder if they would do it?
Be nice to think that the answer is a yes, they would…
Small steps for change… starting by focussing the mind-set every day. Even if thoughts condone this as futile and ’progress’ as being slow …if you keep going movement is there and eventually you become aware of how far you have come… take a snail. A snail travels slowly… yet it can travel relatively vast distances…it can even surmount a vertical wall!! Food for thought.
Enjoy your journey X
