Soul Power

Soul Power: Thick ice today as headed for the river. The sun was playing with the low snow clouds and the sky was breath taking. Rich golds to the East around the sun and pale pinks and crimson to the West. Photo gives an impression but does not really give the full beauty which makes your Soul sing and lifts your spirit to the infinite – totally awesome.

Soul Power: We have all felt it. Felt the uplift, the ‘power’ when we are open and connected to some awesome moment of beauty. So uplifting there are no words to do it justice…we feel deeply touched and inspired. Sadly however, for many, that feeling of uplift is there in a moment and then ‘gone’. Meditation and Energy Work can change this. These practices sustain the feeling of empowerment and connection. Rather than being a fleeting experience the connection is there permanently, it is your way of’being’ and of experiencing all life. Sure you can still experience challenging emotions and situations, but these come and go against the back drop of your connection, you are anchored in that, rather than feeling buffeted about by life.

Spiritual traditions across the globe speak of the connection of the Mind & Body with the Infinite. Whether you ‘believe’ this or not, it is a fundamentally Truth. 5000yrs of wisdom which is just being ’proven’ by science. You could present these ancient traditions as age old ‘science’ or knowledge. Take the system of Ayurveda – translated from Sanskrit it  becomes ‘Life Science’ or the science of life. Personally I live by the wisdom of such ancient practices and they embody the teachings within my KaiAmea – a structure for aligning yourself with the infinite for optimum health, wellbeing and healthy aging.

One of the main practices within the set traditions is the value of meditation. Both ‘Energy work & Realignment’ and ‘Meditation’ reconnect your body and mind to the flow of Prana, life force, the Divine…(call it what you will!) and increases the flow of this energy through your energy system. This has tremendous benefits to the body and mind:

  • Meditation resets the biological system and reduces stress and tension
  • Meditation enhances the flow of energy through the system and promotes a healthy aging process
  • Homeostasis and the genes responsible for the self regulation of the body are increased
  • Genes that are responsible for inflammation and disease are decreased

‘Modern’ medicine accepts that the anatomical and physiological systems work together and in a balanced healthy body produce a ‘healthy system. Ancient tradition take this one step further. They teach that all our systems are interconnected, our physical form, our thoughts or ‘mind’ and our emotional state. These interplay and all have to be balanced and in harmony for the individual to experience health and longevity. Sure the individual can encounter life challenges and highly emotional or stressful situations, but these are processed or ‘grounded’ relatively quickly. Excess energy is ‘earthed’ rather than becoming held in a block, creating pressure and tension within the body which can result in a state of dis – ease, in one form or another. Meditation and energy work help these potentially disruptive blocks to be removed.

It is never too late to start the practice of meditation and there are numerous techniques. Those familiar with my teachings will have explored a few! What is important is that you find a technique that you feel comfortable with and relax into it. Personally I find it beneficial to have a few techniques in your ‘tool box’ that you can pull on depending on your state of being/mood at that particular moment. If you are feeling ‘Yang’ –ie active, fiery, frustrated, or very tense…meditating cross legged and doing a breathing meditation may not work for you at that point…you may resonate more with a more physically involved meditation!

It is also never too late to start to receive the benefit from regular meditative practice and of becoming aware of energy flow within your body. Whether you aspire to address a health issue, reduce emotional strain and tension and/or to experience an ‘aging process’ that embodies high levels of health and well being… then it’s worth experiencing the value of meditation and of empowering yourself in the process.

Love your Body… Love your Life…
