What matters is how you see yourself

The weather was sublime today. Quite deceiving because it made the loch water actually look inviting. The harsh reality however, is that this is Scotland, not the tropics. Still, the Wild Swimmers amongst us will appreciate that cold temperatures don’t equate to a ‘no go’. Rather they equate to arms and legs burning with the cold and a sense of euphoria when, after a very quick swim, a red, lobster looking version of yourself steps out from the water.

A mad smile flits across my face as in that moment I reflect on the call with Derek Rydall’s healing circle last evening (at least it was evening here on the Isle Of Skye). One of the topics touched on was that what matters is not how others see or perceive you, but rather how you see yourself.

In that moment, a red lobster dancing, not very elegantly, over sharp rocks! The joys of cold water dipping.

Perception is a funny thing. Lots of our perceptions we are conscious of but the majority we are not. It can be quite a game to uncover all the perceptions that we run our lives by and, by default, which subconsciously run our lives if we allow them. One thing I have noticed however is that many people don’t actually observe how they perceive themselves. Not really. Not entirely.

Do you see yourself as whole, amazing and complete? Or does even the thought of that make a facet of you contract and cringe? Be honest?

Do you see the universe as whole, amazing and complete? Or do you actually have a fear about ‘what is out there?’ and although you are more than happy to embrace the divine, oneness, God…whatever label you resonate with, is there a part of you that holds back on what actually is ‘out there’ ? By that I mean, does it hold onto a fear and judgement around other energy labels, star beings, dragons, elementals…

Its all divine. Its all oneness.

I’ve seen energies all my life. From the age of three I remember seeing faeries and star beings and Jesus would come and tell me stories. The first time I went into a church I remember now pointing to the tortured figure on the cross and asking my mum who that was. When I was told that was Jesus I was dismayed at what I perceived to be a total lie. I remember the look on my mothers face when I told her that wasn’t what Jesus looked like.

The thing is, in truth, it isn’t the case of either or. Its the case of all. Everything is energy and its all divine. It truly is the case of not only how you see yourself that is important on this journey of ours, but also how you look at what is around you. How you consciously choose, as a being of light, to perceive the energies of the cosmos. And the beauty is, YOU get to choose. You get to choose what you play with.

Yet that said, no matter how hard you try to perceive the ocean around the Isle of Skye as tropical bliss, your body still tells you that its freezing!

Still, no good or bad. Just oneness . . . so I’ll embrace the red lobster until I get warm at least!

Namaste
