Mist Magic

Sunny and clear but cold with no mist to keep us warm?? !! Wise enough now not to be lulled into the usual false sense of security – sun meaning warmer water…in fact the opposite is true – in the river the sunnier the day – the colder the water always feels… Doesn’t detract from the magic though and in mist or sun the mornings by the river in Autumn …well…are something else.
May have been the start of a clear blue sky overhead but over the river water was a swirling mist, rising as the water started to warm up after the frosty night. The result – a mysterious atmosphere were you hardly dare breath for fear of waking some sleeping water dragon or elemental that was afoot… and on such mornings it is with more than usual reverence that I find myself stepping quietly into the water, feeling very small and yet very privileged to be here …
