December Frost

Some mornings it’s tough to be mindful of your thoughts… to stay ‘on track’ rather than slump down the spiral of doubt. Frustrating when you are aware that such feelings potentially keep you ‘stuck’ Keep you stuck in the familiar cycle, creating more of the same experience… Which would be fine, except for the fact you are perhaps seeking change in some area of your life.

Such a beautiful morning this morning. Ice sparkling in the sun… stunningly beautiful by the river… But have to admit thoughts were looking down into the abyss. One of those times therefore when you have to be honest with yourself. Observe what is going on without judging yourself a ‘failure’ for being vulnerable. Be real and be authentic – and redirect thoughts on a more inspiring and uplifting track.

And so…I reminded myself of the young man we had just met and will share this with you…

If you knew of a young man who had effectively set up their own business doing what they loved… even though they were still at school they had established this business and had earned such a reputation for himself and was so professional, that he was pretty much ‘booked’ every weekend…would you be impressed?

What would you be impressed by?

Would it be the standard of service he offered? The fact that he had been motivated enough to set up a business at such a young age? Would it be that he had such confidence to not only set up but run the business?

Or would you be impressed more so by the fact that he had done this with his ‘hobby’ with something that he loved with a passion?

For me it is the latter…doing something he loved and being paid to do it…how many individuals long to be in that position? Imagine if that was life was like for you – Wouldn’t every working day be a joy?

It is possible…

Wouldn’t it be liberating if this was taught at school…If a career talk went something like this…

’What do you love to do? Set the dream goal, set the sail and start the journey towards the destination that you have in mind…don’t worry if you cant ‘see’ the final destination – why would you, you haven’t started the journey yet! Allow your dream to unfold and ‘find’ you. Rather than you squash yourself into a ‘box’ for the sake of belonging, for the sake of being ‘normal.’ Go for your dream!’

Well…it’s not too late. So I am going to ask you … What is you deepest dream in relationships? In your work? In your life experience?

Set the sail…

Enjoy your journey X
