River Power

River Power: Heavy rain most of the right meant for raging river this morning. The wind had been obliging however and had blown away most of the clouds and walked to the river in sunshine. Played race the kayakers to the swim spot …odd but had swim, walked back to the carpark and they had disappeared…either they chose not to go down stream as the water was so ferocious, or they went higher up river – cant understand how they work their ‘system’ – the logistics of boats and getting back to their cars afterwards, always seems to be more people and boats than transport!…but then not being a white water kayaker that is understandable perhaps!

Was thinking of the Jan coo story whist swimming. The ‘voice’ that lured Jan coo into the river causing him to disappear, all be it, escaping abusive child slavery…

‘River Dart…River Dart…

Every Year you claim a heart…’

Seems a curse. But is it? Is it actually a blessing? If indeed being the cause of a persons actual demise, is this actually helping that person on some level? Who is to say.

Love the Dart River despite any misunderstood press around it. Yes it has a ’presence’ unlike any other river I have yet come across. It commands respect, has a ‘voice’ and won’t be ignored…

So… I take a dip… Heart or no… feeling the river flow all around me …and feeling a part of its flow and energy…. I don’t feel any ‘threat’ just very aware of its power and life force…

Namaste
