Freedom

Freedom: After being snowed in for three days it was amazing to get down to the river today. With the air temperature a good 12 degrees warmer than the last few days, it felt almost like summer! The water  however not so. With melt water running down it the water had the feel of a glacier water loch…made me smile as it brought back memories of April swims in Loch Lomond and Lochy a couple of years ago.

The energies of the water felt so liberating… even before you got in you could feel the healing qualities of the river. It truly touches you in such a way that you cannot help but feel uplifted, lighter and free. It clears away the dross and any murmur of headaches, sluggishness and the body feeling discombobulated… well it all just goes. So often people have said – don’t go in the water if you are feeling below par… you will get hyperthermia…but fact is, it helps. Helps so much! Certainly I have missed it this last few days anyways… running is fun and liberating too, but it just isn’t as ‘submersive’ as a wild swim or cold water plunge.

Don’t know about you, but the snow was fun…yes it makes you slow your pace and is a good opportunity for reflection. Almost forcing you to consider life in a different way…but it’s good to feel able to ’get back out!’
