Stillness

Stillness: All very calm down by the river… it was as though the world was resting after the many visitors that had called in over the weekend. Made me smile to think of all the people enjoying the beauty of the moor and the river…and the river like some tireless host delivering energy and singing its song… then when everyone had left, taking a big deep breath and sinking back into its flow of being…

And the people…rejuvenated…touched by its magic…whether aware of it or not…

I lay in the shallows and talked to the fish that were flickering in and out of the rocks… I didn’t feel that they were quite so calmed by the weekend…more like they had been hiding I felt… images of splashing, vivid colours and noise drifted through my mind… I smiled as they swam around my feet…feeling them breathing and enjoying the calm of the morning…

There is a lot to be said for stillness. Stillness in the moment. A time for reflection and a time to listen to your body and to your feelings… It is only in this stillness that we can truly ‘hear’ what our inner voice is whispering and gauge where our very own GPS is directing us to journey…  And, all be it in my opinion, only in the stillness can we connect to Earth and to our Core Being ..our inner sanctuary of peace, strength and freedom where we can draw on insight and courage in support of our journey…
